Cheentee Design Studio presents a collection of hand crafted cushion covers and table runners, built using beautifully hand woven Khadi, India's Freedom fabric. Non ostentatious, non intrusive, yet so elegant, this collection adds a lovely hand-made intimacy to your spaces and is a special ode to all khadi weavers for the relentless work they put into its weaving, to bring it back to modern homes! You'll also find a colorful range of ethnic Indian themed calendars from Rajasthan, made of recycled handmade paper. The Studio sees itself as a Caravan, that travels, observes people and cultures, adopts and creates. They believe in organic growth and holistic design, adopting it as a way of life. Their story with Khadi does not end once the product is made and sold, but continues in its new home, as the fabric has a long life, and only gets better with age, lightening the load on the planet. Cheentee uses khadi that is churned into products locally in the same village, where the fabric is woven. They don’t find it fair to uproot artisans from their villages and homes to serve designers and consumers in the cities.
