THE STORY
This elegant collection of sarees in beautifully textured tussar dupion silk is handwoven using rich silk yarn of Bhagalpur, Bihar. Carrying bold checks and simple geometric patterns in classic and contemporary color palettes, these sarees speak of effortless style.

Bhagalpur, derived its name from the word ‘Bhagdatpuram’, or the city of Good Luck. It formed a part of the ancient Sanskrit kingdom of Anga, ruled by king Karna (Mahabharata). Later, it was included in the Hindu kingdom, Magadha and in the 7th C it became an independent state. Chinese travelers Hsüan-tsang and Fa-Hien who visited India in the 7th C referred to it as one of the biggest trade centers in eastern India.
