Next, they place these blocks onto the fabric and gently apply pressure onto them to make imprints on them. It takes expertise to make the prints. For Chikankari, the artisans create separate blocks for each motif, such as Buttis and flowers. Traditionally, the technique is also known as Chhapayi.
Hand Embroidery: Once the prints are in place on the fabric, the artisans start making the embroidery using needles and various coloured threads.
