This colorful cotton dasoot iPad sleeve is hand-embroidered by the Gujjar and Bakarwal women of the shepherd tribes of Kashmir.
This product is created under the The Shepherd Crafts project located at Langanbal village near Pahalgam, that aims at reviving and sustaining the inherent hand skills of Gujjar and Bakarwal community through documentation, design and retail. It provides an alternate source of income and access to health care to the women beneficiaries.
The brightly colored embroidery featured here is peculiar to the clan and can be found in the clothing, saddles of ponies and other elements of their nomadic lifestyle.
The product may contain some irregularities and one piece might differ from the other in terms of layout or pattern as this is a hand-embroidered product created by a shepherd tribe. These elements add to the unique charm of this exquisite piece.
